JOB SUMMARY:

The Infusion Nurse supports and administers medication and fluids via an intravenous (IV) line, central line, or venous access port. Ensures patients receive the appropriate IV for treatment ordered and assesses patient’s response to intravenous therapy. Infusion Nurse works in concert with the Physician and Nursing staff to ensure the appropriate IV Therapy for treatment. Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Always demonstrates Service Excellence standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited RN program. ADN Required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN License from the State of Texas
• BLS (or obtained during orientation)
• Two (2) year RN acute care experience inclduing IV insertion, ciritical care, ED, or transition exp preferred.
• Clinical experience in Infusion Therapy preferred.
• ACLS, PALS, or NRP (or obtained within six months of employment) in required specialty.
• De-escalation training (obtained CPI within six months of employment) in required specialty.
• Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI)
