We are currently hiring a full time Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist!
The HIM Specialist participates as an integral member of the HIM team by ensuring the quality maintenance of patient information (medical records), within all laws, rules, and regulations of federal and state licensing agencies, and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards for the quality of patient care.

Fremont Hospital is a fully accredited, 148-bed private inpatient psychiatric hospital providing quality care for children through adults. The facility provides a full assortment of care which includes assessments, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial-hospitalization, intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment as well as chemical dependency outpatient care.

QualificationsEducation: Graduation from a Health Information Management (HIM) program preferred; high school graduate or equivalent required.
Experience: At least one (1) year experience in Health Information Management and a thorough knowledge of medical terminology, health information, and electronic health records preferred.
Additional Requirements: Typing or keyboard data entry experience required. You may be required to successfully complete the Fremont Hospital’s non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training course within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting with preventative intervention measures. You may be required to work overtime and flexible hours.
Certification(s): Medical Terminology certificate preferred or other allied health related certificate.
Computer/Software/Other programs: Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, fax machine, and copy machine. Cerner or other electronic health record preferred.
