Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services the E.R. Technician is responsible for general duties performed in the Emergency Department related to maintaining smooth patient flow. The E.R. Technician has specialized skills and knowledge in Emergency Care for all patients from infancy through geriatric.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills and the ability to communicate effectively utilizing both written and verbal skills
Strong critical thinking skills are required Ability to use hospital data system to capture various reports as necessary.
Demonstrates keyboard ability for word processing and data entry purposes.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
One year experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Computer experience preferred.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
Assaultive Behavior Management training required within 90 days of hire date.
REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS
Current EMT license required.
Current BLS (CPR) certificate required.
