Stonington Institute is committed to providing quality substance abuse treatment options for adults in Southeastern Connecticut and surrounding areas. We offer medical detox as well as residential addictions treatment for active duty and retired military service members in our North Stonington location. Our clinic in Groton, CT, offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment, and is conveniently located across the street from The Inn at Trails Corner, a new 180 bed dormitory-style sober community for adult men and women who attend our outpatient day treatment programs. The Inn offers overnight accommodations, full-meal service, indoor/outdoor recreation options, a workout room, and computer center for all clients. We accept private insurance, state-funded plans and self-pay arrangements.

Job Summary:

The maintenance workers provide the foundation for a safe, problem free facility at the Stonington Institute, exercising judgement while interacting with all staff and patients. The Maintenance Department functions as a team in the delivery of services to clients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Walk grounds daily to inspect conditions and note items that are in need of repair.
• Inspect all buildings on a weekly basis for repair and maintenance as needed.
• Empty trash daily.
• Inspect all company vehicles for safety and maintenance. Fill fuel tanks and check oil levels according to auto-maintenance schedule.
• Inspect all safety, emergency lighting, and safety materials on a weekly basis.
• Conduct repairs, grounds work, and other maintenance duties as scheduled.
• Other duties that require mandatory overtime
• Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, understand, and follow directions given by the supervisor. Experience with machinery and repairs helpful.
