Spring Mountain Treatment Center is currently seeking a dynamic professional to join our team as an LPN/LVN. The LPN is responsible for the implementation of physician's orders, as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Nursing Manager, and within the boundaries of their professional license. They present good communication and observation skills as well as the ability to accurately process and document information.

ABOUT SPRING MOUNTAIN TREATMENT CENTER:

Spring Mountain Behavioral Services has provided mental health services to the Las Vegas community since 2001, treating children, teens, adults and senior adults with behavioral health or addiction issues. We offer a supportive and healthy environment with 24-hour care that allows people of all ages to make positive changes in their lives. Our primary location, Spring Mountain Treatment Center, focuses on the stabilization of acute symptoms for patients age 5 to 65, along with select outpatient care programs for teens. Our secondary location, Spring Mountain Sahara, houses our Adult Outpatient and Senior Adult Inpatient programs. 

Spring Mountain Treatment Center is a 110-bed mental health facility that provides acute crisis stabilization services for adults, teens, and children in a secure inpatient setting. Our individualized treatment includes a structured, therapeutic environment, intensive physician involvement and oversight, and daily group and educational programs. We provide a caring and healthy environment that gives individuals a chance to make positive changes.

Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • The LPN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of Mental Health conditions.
  • Maintains safe environment and appropriate boundaries with clients and staff.
  • Provides role modeling of appropriate behavior to clients for effective responsible citizenship and conflict resolution.
  • Teaches appropriate social skills, communication skills, and relationship building skills.
  • Monitors and evaluates patient participation in client treatment activities.
  • Assists in providing therapeutic and/or recreational activities.
  • Provides structure and direction for educational groups for Life skills.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and stand for long periods of time.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing
  • Minimum one (1) year as a LPN/LVN in psychiatric nursing preferred
  • Licensed to practice vocational/practical nursing (LPN) from the State Board of Nursing
  • Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications
  • Successful completion of Handle With Care training; including restraint and seclusion policies
  • Work is of medium demand both physically and mentally; heavy walking and standing while on duty
  • Knowledge of patient care practices and procedures
  • knowledge of department and personnel policies
  • Skill in oral and written communication
  • Ability to plan, organize and conduct patient care processes in a timely manner
  • Understand and honor the established hospital rules, regulations and Policy and Procedures
  • Good communication skills, i.e., reading, writing, and speaking
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Good leadership qualities which includes self-control, patience, and empathy
  • Obtain BLS Basic Life Support certification
  • New hires are required to attend 1 full week of New Employee Orientation on day shift, normally 8:00 am – 4:30 pm Monday through Friday
  • Must successfully pass background check (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check)
