The Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Information Technology Specialist I.

The primary responsibility of the Information Technology Specialist I is to provide general on-site technical support for computer hardware, software, applications, data communications and telecom support for the Atlantic Region CBO. They will be responsible for utilizing resources available within the CBO and will work with IT Specialist II and IS Manager as needed.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Ensure that local users receive all required services on a daily basis. Working with IT Specialist II for high level issues.

· Responds to help desk requests from local users for direct assistance.

· Assist IT Specialist II in managing LAN, WAN and voice technologies.

· Installs, maintains and repairs personal computer devices and programs.

· Uses policies and procedures in solving problems and performing computer support service tasks.

· Understands and follows IS/Foundations Department prioritization scheme for projects.

· Provides regular updates of problem resolutions and status reports to IT Manager.

· Shows initiative and enthusiasm in work and can anticipate what needs to be done.

· Represents the IS Department to users in a positive manner at all times.

· Assists in maintaining documentation for technical configurations and problem resolutions.

· Assist IT Specialist II with implementing new software, servers and IT processes.

· Determine and resolve problems with associated PC’s, Networks, Servers, operating systems and applications as needed with assistance from IT Specialist II.

· Assists IS or Foundations staff members in performing functions necessary for continued operations of computer systems.

· Keeps abreast of new software and hardware product development.

· Quality of work is clear, legible, organized and in good order.

· Completes work assignments timely and produces expected amount of work. Shows that work assignments are understood. Follow up with IT Specialist II or IT Manager with any issues.

· Be available for after hours and on-call work for system problems as needed.

· Effectively works with IS and Foundations staff members in a team environment.

· Utilize time and resources effectively. (i.e. misuse of supplies, equipment, materials or work time)

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Associate Degree and 1-3 years Information Technology experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Customer focused both internally and externally
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to multi-task, strong 10 key data entry, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with Information Technology and 1-3 years IT support experience preferred.
