SWHS consists of two acute-care hospitals: Inland Valley Medical Center and Rancho Springs Medical Center.
Inland Valley Medical Center
A 122 bed acute care hospital which features the regions only Level II Trauma Unit and is the county-designated Paramedical Base station and Southwest Riverside County’s only Center of Excellence in Weight Loss Surgery.
Rancho Springs Medical Center
A 120 bed acute care hospital which includes the region’s largest birthing center along with the area’s only NICU in combination with Rady Children’s Hospital and the region’s first da Vinci Robotic Surgical Program.
The Director of Infection Prevention, oversees and mentors staff in the collection, analysis, and reporting of data, facilitating improvement projects, assessing for and implementing risk reduction measures and assessing and coordinating activities related to achieving and maintaining ongoing regulatory compliance. Specific activities encompass surveillance, educating, providing leadership, and being accountable for related activities. It also requires communication with and reporting of facility-specific information to corporate counterparts, public health and regulatory agencies as a means of prevention and treatment of patient-related infectious disease processes, as well as interaction with worker's compensation, in order to promote employee health and safety.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Five(5) years of clinical experience in Infection Prevention highly preferred
Minimum three (3) years leadership experience in Infection Prevention or in related field required, acute care experience preferred.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS
Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CIC) required.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) license in the State of California, highly preferred
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification through the American Heart Association
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to work in a high volume, fluctuating census environment.
Subject to many interruptions.
Subject to irregular hours.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where noise levels fluctuate.
Exposure to solvents, chemicals, and cleaning solutions as applied to departmental MSDS sheet.
Must use personal protective equipment/devices to avoid direct contact with blood and body fluids, sharps, chemicals, etc. as they apply to each department
