Qualifications

Charge Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

To provide nursing care for psychiatric patients using the nursing process. To assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care. To administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician. To ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies. Patients served include adolescents (12-17), adults (18 ), and geriatric (55 ). To provide leadership and direction for the operations of the unit as directed by CNO. Holds self and others accountable.

• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Texas (or eligible to receive or renew).
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Required minimum one year of RN experience
• Preferred one year of RN leadership experience
• Preferred one year of inpatient psychiatric experience with patients aged 12 to 65 years
