Job Description

This is a full-time opportunity. The Accounts Payable/Payroll Coordinator prepares and processes payments for vendor invoices, employee expense reimbursements and other financial obligations for Cedar Springs Hospital in accordance with internal accounting policies. The Accounts Payable/Payroll Coordinator reviews purchase orders, statements and invoices to verify amounts owed. They will respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies in billings and payments; and maintain and reconcile accounts payable ledgers.

The Accounts Payable/Payroll Coordinator is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees. This person will perform a full range of record keeping and payroll activities, including computing wage and overtime requirements, calculating and recording payroll deductions, and creating deduction vouchers.

Cedar Springs Hospital COVID-19 vaccination mandate:

In accordance with Colorado state public health order, all healthcare workers must be vaccinated, and the Company must verify vaccine status. Pursuant to this public health order, the following modes constitute as proof of vaccination:

    • an electronic entry in the Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS); OR
    • an immunization record from a licensed healthcare provider who has administered a COVID-19 vaccine to an individual who provides services for the facility or agency, specifying the vaccine administered, name and title of the person who administered the vaccine, address of the location where the vaccine was administered, and the date it was administered. A

COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (issued by the Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control & Prevention or WHO Yellow Card) which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided, and date last dose administered would suffice.

Exemptions

  • Workers may be exempt from the vaccination requirements by providing a signed exemption form indicating one of the following:
  • Religious Beliefs
  • Qualifying Medical Reason
  • To be eligible for an exemption based on Religious Beliefs, the worker must provide a written statement describing the worker’s sincerely held religious beliefs and how those beliefs conflict with Colorado’s August 21, 2021 Public Health Order requiring certain healthcare workers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The company may request supporting documentation to further evaluate the request for religious accommodation.
  • To be eligible for a Qualified Medical Reason exemption, the worker must provide a written statement signed by a physician, physician assistant, advanced practice nurse, or certified nurse midwife licensed in the State of Colorado stating that the COVID-19 vaccination for the employee, direct contractor, or support staff is medically contraindicated as described in the product labeling or authorized by the FDA. This statement should not describe the underlying medical condition or disability but should indicate the probable duration of the inability to receive the vaccine.
  • A record of signed exemption forms and statements submitted in support of the exemption request must be maintained in a confidential HR Medical file, separate from the Personnel File.
  • Qualifications

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors preferred
    • Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
    • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
    • Thorough knowledge of accounts payable procedures.
    • Ability to organize all documents related to a transaction.
    • Performs weekly Kronos and Lawson audits.
    • Performs a full range of record keeping and payroll activities, including computing wage and overtime requirements, calculating and recording payroll deductions, and creating deduction vouchers.
    • Assists with filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for senior management.
    • Provides operational, administrative, technical and analytical support necessary to process bi-weekly payroll.
    • Keep current with issues related to payroll including taxation, best practices, and local, state and federal reporting requirements.
    • Works in conjunction with HRIS and IT to ensure data is accurate in Payroll software, systems are functioning properly, and to assist in implementing upgrades and patches to Kronos and Lawson.
    • Provides training and/or in-services to timekeepers, new employees, payroll staff and other system personnel based on their level of involvement and responsibility in the payroll process.
    • Setting up new hires in timekeeping system
    • Processing paid time off requests
    • Displays a proficiency in management and data entry
    • Knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping principles

    • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
    • Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Demonstrates ability to maintain positive relationships and courteous interactions with hospital staff and the public; maintains confidentiality
    • Ability to set priorities in order to meet deadlines
    • Ability to function in a busy environment with evolving priorities and frequent interruptions
