RN 3/12 Schedule

Job Opening Summary

The inpatient registered nurse (IP RN) is responsible for identifying the patient's alterations in health, assessing the patient's human response to actual and potential health problems, implementing nursing interventions based on theoretical concepts from nursing and other arts and sciences and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The incumbent will provide care for patients in accordance with physician orders, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies

Whenever possible, the patient, the family or those significant to the patient are an integral part of the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation efforts of the IP RN.

The IP RN is responsible for supervising/directing care provided by licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel. The registered nurse is responsible for assigning/delegating care to other qualified members of the health care team. The IP RN coordinates care between other professional disciplines, as needed.

Unit-based activities which contribute to a positive work and professional environment are performed, including, but not limited to:

  • Demonstrating ability to manage care within the established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state of Florida.
  • Initiating care to stabilize patient and assisting in managing life support needs by collaborating with physician and clinical staff and demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge and transfer procedures.
  • Collecting laboratory samples and performing lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating ability to perform laboratory quality controls and assessments and routine daily, weekly and monthly and periodic maintenance and function according to laboratory policy and procedure.
  • Preparing patient meals in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Ensuring proper supplies, appropriate medical equipment and medications are available for patient care and par levels meet facility needs.
  • Participating in QAPI activities, including participation in accreditation preparation and survey processes, and maintenance of accreditation, state and CMS standards.
  • Adhering to established facility/departmental policies and procedures.
  • Attending and participating in all applicable facility meetings, trainings and development workshops.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Coordinating discharge planning and post-acute placement of patients, as required.

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years' experience in a hospital progressive care or intensive care unit or equivalent experience.
  • BSN and professional nursing board certification preferred at time of hire.
    • All nurses hired after April 30, 2014 without a BSN will be required to obtain a BSN within three years of hire.
    • All nurses hired after June 30, 2011 without a professional nursing board certification will be required to obtain a professional nursing board certification after two years of hire or at the certification eligibility date for those certifications requiring more than two years of experience.

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

  • Current RN license in the state of Florida.
  • Current BLS, ACLS.

Minimum Pay Rate - Hourly: $31.00 Midpoint Pay Rate - Hourly: $41.89
