Assists Supervisor in planning, scheduling, coordinating and problem solving in the assigned Laboratory area. Involved with instrument validation, correlations, new procedures, and special projects. Performs Laboratory procedures, some requiring advance knowledge and skills. Operates lab instrumentation to provide clinical data for use in treatment and diagnosis of disease. Makes independent judgment decisions in the reporting of normal and abnormal results. Sets up new Quality Control (QC) lots and reviews quality control routinely. Assists with competencies.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree. Specific course work: Bachelor's degree in Human Science (such as biology, chemistry, medical technology, and clinical/medical laboratory science).
Necessary Skills:
1. Practices Hospitality Training
2. Possesses critical thinking skills
3. Good verbal and written communication skills
Required Licensure/Certifications:
Florida licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist or Supervisor
Preferred Licensure/Certifications: Clinical Laboratory Supervisor license in appropriate areas. National Certification from ASCP, AMT, or AAB as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist
Required Experience: Must have minimum of 2 years' experience in non-waived testing in designated specialty.
