Job SummaryUnder the general direction of the Assistant Director of the Department of Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, the Outpatient Rehab Services Administrative (ORSA) Supervisor works independently and has primary responsibility for the department’s daily outpatient administrative operations. Essential functions include supervision and leadership of administrative/practice coordinator staff, human resources, and business functions of the department for primary Outpatient Rehabilitation Service locations across multiple campuses, locations and services, and including Rehab services embedded in other departments across UCSF Health. The ORSA Supervisor also provides guidance, training and assistance with administrative and revenue cycle management for outpatient billing for services, as needed, for inpatient Rehabilitation Services, as well as the Department of Physical Therapy PhysFit Health & Wellness Center.
This is a professional leadership role that functions with an appropriate degree of independence, initiative, assertiveness, and diplomacy, necessary in dealing with faculty, staff, other departments and patients/clients in a complex environment. The ORSA Supervisor collaborates with the Hospital Billing Service (PFS), Revenue Cycle Quality and Education, Patient Relations, Ambulatory Managers and Administration, Clinical Services Managers, Faculty Practice Administration, School of Medicine Directors and/or Revenue Managers, EPIC-based electronic medical record committees, and Patient Access Managers to resolve business issues and operational challenges facing the organization as a whole, as well as individual department value streams.
The ORSA Supervisor is assigned highly complex analytical duties which require a clear understanding of key processes. Analyzes and interprets quantitative and qualitative data, drawing conclusions and recommending solutions to complex operational problems. Leads improvement activities that engage the frontline staff, and transcend quality, clinical operational dimensions to support achievement of the organizational goals through Lean Management.
Must have the ability to lead and prioritize multiple projects and oversee implementation and development of workflow and systems for efficiency.
