Job Title: Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapist

Reports To: Division Head of Physical Therapy

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team at our University-based clinic. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports rehabilitation and orthopedic injuries, as well as a strong desire to work with patients from all the diverse university and community populations. The Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapist will be responsible for providing high-quality physical therapy services to patients with sports injuries and orthopedic conditions, while collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients. Additionally, the Sports and Orthopedic Physical Therapist will have the opportunity to assist with research projects and educational requirements of the DPT program.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide high-quality physical therapy services to patients with sports injuries and orthopedic conditions.
• Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to develop customized treatment plans for each patient.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to design and implement effective rehabilitation programs.
• Collaborate with physicians, athletic trainers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
• Continuously evaluate and modify treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Document all patient interactions and progress in accordance with clinic standards.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the advancement of the field of sports and orthopedic physical therapy.
• Assist with research projects to include recruitment of subjects and carrying out designated research protocols.
• Assist with educational requirements of the DPT program including delivery of guest lectures, clinical education and assistance with remediation.
• Light administrative duties related to scheduling, EMR, billing, auditing, and communication with practice administrators.

Experience

• 3-5 years related experience. Background in direct patient care in an outpatient orthopedic setting is preferred.

Education:

• Current licensure as a physical therapist in the state of Florida
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and the ability to apply them to patient care.

Interpersonal Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Work Environment:

• Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic
• Academic units, including classrooms and or laboratory.
