This role is based in our Atlanta, GA office,


About the role

The Talent Country Lead US will partner with all leaders in the US to drive all talent activities enabling UCB to reach its business objectives. You will act as a strategic influencer, therefore understanding the business, its imperatives, and priorities. You will lead or actively contribute to key strategic projects requiring Talent matters knowledge and/or expertise (eg. DE&I, site changes, crisis management). It is the external engagement face of Talent within the area.


Who you’ll work with

You will work closely with USLT and extended partners to ensure a talent-focused way of working across all teams.

You will manage a team of Talent Partners working with US leaders, some in close collaboration with Global Talent Partners, and have a matrix influence on other Talent team members across the US, delivering together on common Talent objectives and enablers for all concerned stakeholders.


What you’ll do

  • Act as a strategic influencer, understanding the intricacies of our business and guiding talent decisions that support our imperatives and priorities.
  • Leverage your expertise in talent matters to lead and contribute to strategic projects, such as Diversity, Equity, and inclusion (DE&I), site changes, and crisis management.
  • Serve as the external engagement face of Talent within the US, representing UCB’s commitment to excellence in all talent-related interactions.
  • Provide a talent philosophy and framework that aligns with global policies, fostering an environment where talent, organizational, and cultural initiatives thrive.
  • Oversee the execution of all talent processes within the country, ensuring seamless operation and alignment with our global vision.


I
nterested? For this role we’re looking for the followingeducation, experience,and skills

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 10 years of management experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in cross-functional / transversal leadership & connectivity (quarterback between different units & teams)

Preferred:

  • Pharmaceutical experience
  • Deep business acumen (demonstrated through an understanding of and exposure to business or experience in being in commercial business)
  • Ability to bring diverse viewpoints to the table, influence senior (ExCom-1) leaders, and partner to reach a common goal – play at the level of senior stakeholders using required diverse thinking & creativity.
  • Strategic & holistic thinking (ability to bring together different business & talent topics into a cohesive, proactive, and forward-looking HR contribution)
  • Dealing with ambiguity (ability to shape the future when clarity is not there)
  • Understands the impact of own actions on other areas of the business and looks for synergies inside and outside the organization.
  • Excellent people skills, including strong communication skills, both oral and written and strong conflict management and negotiation skills, in order to interact effectively at all levels of the organization in identifying and resolving complex issues.
