Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Finance Transformation, the incumbent will help drive transformation of processes within business and financial planning across the health system enterprise, including the following areas: enterprise business and capital implementation and integration, implementation of strategic and management initiatives, enterprise financial planning, and health system funds flow. The incumbent will partner with UCI Health Strategy, UCI School of Medicine, and other stakeholders within UCI College of Health Sciences, along with leaders within UCI support services, integrated contracting, revenue cycle, controller services, and government reimbursement. The key opportunities for the Health System Strategic Finance Transformation include business opportunities within the UCI Health Enterprise, pursuing integrated clinical financial planning, analysis, reporting, and operations; improving healthcare financial awareness across the clinical enterprise; and strengthening the Health System Finance Organization structure and resource management infrastructure in anticipation of the significant growth outlined in the health system long range financial plan. The incumbent will partner with senior business and clinical leaders to develop and implement business opportunities that drive sustainable, measurable improvements to our clinical delivery models; identify, prioritize, and scope strategic business opportunities; manage multiple complex projects from beginning to end using UCI Health tools and methods; partner with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement projects, programs, and processes; establish clear lines of communication and trusting relationships to accomplish change; facilitate large groups and leads conversations to consensus; leverages data systems to build a robust fact base and to measure both financial and operational benefits; establish accountability and performance management processes to sustain change; and challenge status quo and becomes a thought partner for each area supported.

Salary Range:
Annual RateMinimum$100,600.00 Midpoint$145,700.00 Maximum $190,800.00

Required Qualifications:
Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Broad knowledge of business process including disaster recovery, business continuity and risk management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, Access and PowerPoint, and statistical data analysis software and other desktop applications
Experience with structured Change Management methodologies
Strong facilitation skills
Understands and has significant experience in the use of tools for process improvement to include lean methodologies, project management, change management, and other improvement techniques
Results-oriented change agent who is an effective business systems thinker
Ability to manage risk and ambiguity on a project
Proven ability to quickly develop credibility with various/all constituencies
Analytical ability to develop, analyze and interpret application of data
Effective communicator, able to understand the needs of a variety of audience members and tailor a message accordingly.
Bachelor's degree
Minimum 2 years internal or external Academic Healthcare setting managing funds flow supporting the faculty practice and clinical operations
Ability to maintain an organized approach, clarity of purpose, and goal orientation in a rapidly changing environment involving multiple stakeholders of various levels from throughout the organization.
Must be results-driven to drive quantifiable results
Understanding of business planning including analysis, budgeting, feasibility studies, and implementation.
Ability to plan, set expectations (for self and others), and accomplish multiple objectives within specific timeframes.
5 years internal or external consulting (or equivalent experience) with strong operational background performing or managing finance and/or strategic projects to include experience in a healthcare environment
Strong project management skills
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Good team leadership and motivational skills and good creative problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
Ability to work collaboratively with entity CFO’s, COO’s, CNO’s, and Clinical Directors within Hospital and Physician practices to affect positive impact on identified opportunities in both finance and strategic domains
Knowledge of healthcare market, government rules and regulations
Experience with database and decision support systems
