Position Summary:

Incumbent is a key member of Pharmacy Informatics and Automation team whose function is to implement, maintain and support automation technologies that optimize the medication use process while maintaining/enhancing patient safety. Pharmacy Automation Technician operates and maintains complex pharmacy automation/computer equipment used to prepare and dispense medications under direct technical supervision of the Pharmacy Systems Administrator. Responsible for supporting pharmacy systems, performing preventative maintenance, and disinfecting Pyxis equipment throughout the hospital and clinics. Incumbent provides support and maintenance of mission critical pharmacy automation, including but not limited to, BD Pyxis, Swisslog Boxpicker, Baxter TPN Compounder. Pharmacy Automation Technician troubleshoots automation system/computer equipment quickly to reduce system downtime duration and communicate any issues impacting operations to Pharmacy Systems Administrator/Pharmacy leadership.
