Position Summary:

The incumbent provides support for all computer and information systems activities of the Pathology Department. Monitors activity and maintains LIS performance and integrity to ensure highest standards of patient care and compliance with all applicable regulations. Incumbent may be required to chair user group and validation committees with technical specialists and physicians across the Health System.

Salary Range:

Annual RateMinimum$95,300.00 Midpoint$140,400.00 Maximum $185,500.00

Required Qualifications:

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Ability to organize and coordinate multiple complex tasks and provide good responses to deadline requirements while under pressure to meet deadlines

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Recent and relevant knowledge of LIS function and usage beyond the level of a basic system user

General knowledge and familiarity with theory and practice of laboratory medicine

Current California Clinical Lab Scientist or Cytotech License

Must have the ability to organize, coordinate and lead meetings involving groups comprised of technical specialists and providers from many medical specialties and support departments.

Current California Clinical Lab Scientist or equivalent Medical Technologist License

Experience supporting Laboratory Information Systems Applications

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Sunquest Blood Bank & other Clinical applications

Experience in ad hoc and/or SQL report writing

Training & Experience with Data Innovations Middleware

Knowledge and experience in supporting Donor Systems applications

Knowledge and experience in supporting Laboratory Information systems regulatory & inspection needs

Knowledge of LIS maintenance, including new test builds

Epic Beaker (Lab Modules) certification

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms

Experience with EMR/LIS HL7, Instruments, Middleware, and Point of care interfaces
