Position Summary:

The Division of Enrollment Management is a key campus thought partner that provides collaborative leadership in university-wide efforts, utilizing systematic, innovative, and synergistic approaches to leverage a data-informed enrollment strategy to improve market distinctiveness, and execute the campus strategic plan.? The division comprises the offices of Enrollment Management, Financial Aid & Scholarships, University Registrar, and Undergraduate Admissions. The mission of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is to support and achieve UCI student enrollment goals through practices consistent with the mission and values of the university. The Office seeks to identify, recruit, admit and enroll high-achieving, talented and accomplished students who reflect diverse backgrounds from throughout California, across the United States, and abroad. Senior Admissions Counselor-Native American applies skills as a seasoned, experienced admissions professional, to develop a comprehensive outreach strategy for attracting and yielding students specifically from the Native American and Indigenous populations. Provide information to prospective students and ensure good relationships with the public and institutions and organizations involved in outreach. Independently reviews applications for admission, using professional judgment in determining whether applicant meets the requirements for admission, and taking into account a variety of requirements. Recommends improvements to the program.

$61,100.00 - $72,600.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $61,094.88 - $107,093.52 (Annual Salary)

Required:

Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population. Ability to interpret and communicate University policies and procedures to prospective students and the public.. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions. Ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials. Knowledge of and experience in conducting intersegmental relations for the purposes of outreach, advising, program planning. Understanding of the principles of California's Master Plan of Higher Education, with particular emphasis on the unique roles played by each segment. Negotiation skills and professional presence in working with top-level administrators and effective counseling skills to work with students.

Preferred:

Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula and admissions requirements at UC, specifically UCI. Working knowledge of and experience in marketing to Native American and Indigenous students, including market segmentation best practices, communications plans, social media and networking, web site design and development. Detailed knowledge of academic majors and programs, career programs, and students services at UCI, the UC system, with general knowledge of same at other institutions of higher education.

Special Conditions Required:

Occasional nights/weekends required. Frequent travel outside of normal business hours required. Must possess a valid CA driver’s license. Employment is subject to a DOJ background check. Employee is required to sign a confidentiality/conflict of interest disclosure.
