Position Summary:

People Services is a trusted partner in providing administrative support functions that allow the UCI community to focus on their core functions to accomplish the UCI mission of teaching, research, public service, and patient care. Members of People Services work in close collaboration with all three business units to meet their client’s needs and expectations. People Services is directly accountable to the Vice Chancellor/Chief HR Officer, but also has a duty to meet the service expectations of the executive director for each local HR unit. The objective of the department is to position ourselves to cultivate a strong, collaborative relationship with HR and its clients, identify opportunities for enhancing organizational effectiveness, and serve as a technical point of contact for assigned functional areas.

Reporting to the HRIS Supervisor, the HRIS Analyst is responsible for updating, maintaining, supporting and administering the UCI Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Performs quality reviews, maintenance and accurate data transaction processing in the HR systems as it relates to organizational, job, position, salary, work licensures and other key data components critical to an employee’s records, start and term dates, all employment life cycle data related changes and to meet compliance standards. Process critical reports for employee data requests, as needed. Contributes to the review, planning, testing, implementation, and training for HRMS upgrades and updates. Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams including HR, payroll, and partners across the organization. Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry-wide business process and analysis practices and organizational policies and procedures. Resolves a wide range of business process issues of moderate to complex scope. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. Serves as both a functional and technical expert for HR and it’s clients.

$73,894.32 - $133,694.64 (Annual Salary)

Required:

Four to seven years of experience in a like role is required for this position

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training with an emphasis in HR related systems and business process.

Preferred:

SPR, SHRM and/or PMP, preferred Agile, SRUM, and/or ITIL, preferred

Thorough knowledge of business and process analysis functions. Thorough Knowledge of related areas of IT. Strong skills and knowledge of methodologies associated with analysis of processes and problems, information flow and architecture. In-depth understanding and skill in process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description. Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills. Thorough knowledge of business processes and procedures. Demonstrated testing and test planning skills. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Highly proficient using Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, Teams, etc) Proven ability to adapt to new technologies Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft, HCM Core modules of WFA, TAM, ePerformance, Profile Management, Query Designer and/or other HR systems preferred but not required.
