The pharmacy technician III is responsible for gathering information from medical records and other sources as required to process requests. Makes analysis of what further information needs to be collected to complete patient history. Makes recommendations to pharmacist for refill authorization based on protocols and data gathered. Communicates authorization requests to requesting parties. Assists with processing of prior authorization requests. Maintains database of activities to document workload and impact on patient outcomes.

Department Description
The Pharmacy Department provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pharmaceutical services (prescriptions, unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical infusion pumps and teaching) throughout the Medical Center complex 24 hours per day. The Department is comprised of three inpatient and six outpatient pharmacies, a sterile production lab and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores and distribution.
