Summary of Job Duties : The Patient Services Associate (PSA) is a specifically trained member of the unit-based care team who provides both clerical and patient care support to the Patient Management Team.

In the nursing support role, duties include assisting with processing of bulk storage, peripheral sticks, daily pod audits, blood culture processing, glucometer checks, acting as a preceptor for new Patient Care Technicians (PCT's), and assisting the charge nurse with other assigned duties.

It is important that the PSA takes part in the Unit Based Counsel and is a good role model / leader to the PCT's.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

High School Diploma / GED PLUS One year (1) year of experience in registration, billing, or scheduling preferably in a healthcare environment

Knowledge of basic medical terminology

Intermediate proficiency with computers (MS Office Suite preferred)

Good keyboard and excellent telephone etiquette skills

General knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience working with EPIC system

Call center experience

Additional Information :

Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).
