Job Description:

Under supervision, to work in the enterprise data warehouse environment which includes data design, database architecture, metadata, and repository creation to develop, maintain and support an enterprise data warehouse system and corresponding data sources, including SAP Business Objects, Tableau and Informatica (IICS & Power Center).

To troubleshoot and tune existing data warehouse applications. To assist in creating new or enhanced components of data warehouse. May need to instruct and guide those with less experience as this is a senior position. The candidate will be working in a collaborative team environment consisting of local and remote employees.

Job Duties:

• Monitors daily Informatica ETL jobs, checking and resolving errors and assist in identifying and resolving issues

• Develops IICS Task Flows as needed to assist in the transmission of data throughout UAB Medicine.

• Provides assistance to end users and programmers regarding data warehouse related problems and issues

• Monitors Tableau and BusinessObjects server environments to ensure the maximum uptime and performance of the tool sets

• Adds new users to BI tools according to the EDW security policy to new projects

• Develops monitoring mechanisms in their responsible environment to prevent unnecessary downtime

• Acts as team lead for environment upgrades in Tableau, BusinessObjects, and Informatica

• Effectively communicates pending system changes to user community in a clear and concise manner

• Monitors scheduled BusinessObjects and Tableau extracts / reports and notifies developers

• Takes on-call responsibility one week per month or according to the rotation determined by the manager.

• Performs exhaustive troubleshooting for system related issues.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and six (6) years of related experience required

Required & Preferred Skills

This position is primarily focused on Informatica CDI-PC and IICS, which is a required skillset. Experience in other systems such as EPIC HER, BusinessObjects, Tableau, and Snowflake are not required, but preferred. The candidate will be cross trained in tools they are not familiar with.

• Experience required with Informatica’s PowerCenter/CDI-PC and IICS (a cloud based ETL tool developing and administering data workflows). Experience in one or more of the cloud services tool is required:

• Mass Ingestion

• Data Integration

• API Portal

• Administrator

• Experience required writing SQL as needed to support the movement of data and accessing application metadata.

• Preferred experience administering SAP Business Objects and Tableau Business Intelligence tools in a Windows environment, including user and group security and writing batch scripts as needed.

• Preferred experience administering Snowflake or Oracle APEX.

• Preferred experience with skills administering Linux, writing shell scripts, and Git and Jenkins administration.

In addition, EPIC EHR experience is a great plus
