We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon and we are looking to hire a looking to hire a Project Lead I to join our team in Lake Forest, CA who will be responsible for planning, development, execution, management of the assigned projects to achieve strategic and operational objectives Accountabilities • Based on GFT driven portfolio strategy, Project Lead I is responsible for planning, development, execution, management of the assigned Projects to achieve strategic and operational objective set up by Portfolio Head and/or Lead of R&D Surgical area of the assigned project. • This role will partner with Management/PPM to determine and communicate project execution strategy for assigned projects, including regular status update communication strategy. • The Project Lead will work with Portfolio Head, Leads of Functional areas, internal/external stakeholders, play a leadership role developing and foster collaborative relationships • Support Development in interactions with external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory authorities, key opinion leaders, Scientific advisory boards, internal stakeholders (e.g., Research, Exploratory Development, Global Clinical & Medical Affairs, Marketing etc.), and internal governance • Ensure all functions supporting the project team are adequately resourced. • Elevate issues to Lead of Projects and or Senior Management • Accountable for developing realistic project budget forecasts and timely flagging of budget variations with rationale • Based on Complexity of project or based on where project is in development timelines, Project Lead I can be responsible for 1 or 2 or more projects. • Management of small to medium scale projects in compliance with Stage-Gate process. • Project Lead is expected to be a project driver and have a good understanding of science in the assigned therapeutic area. Needs to have a solid sense of urgency • Strong project management, interpersonal, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills. • Considerable organization awareness (e.g., inter-relationship of departments, business priorities), including significant experience working cross-functionally and in global teams.
