Job Description Maintenance Planner - 1st Shift Location: Kraft Heinz – Cedar Rapids 4601 C Street SW Cedar Rapids, IA, 52404 Plant Overview: 3-Shift Operation Non- Union Facility with approximately 200 hourly staff members which are a mix of temporary and full-time associates. 100% Food Service, 4 bag soup lines, 1 tub line, 18 Kettles, 5 Filling lines, and 4 packaging lines. Products include Frozen Soups and Macaroni & Cheese Company History: Kraft Heinz in Cedar Rapids started as Ashby Soups and was originated in the mid 1980’s by Jamie and Shannon Ashby, along with their mother, using family held recipes for many kinds of soups. In the 1990s’ the name was changed to Quality Chef Foods. Heinz acquired Quality Chef foods in the mid 2000’s. In 2015 Kraft and Heinz merged to become Kraft Heinz as we know it today. This is a place for you to create your career and make a difference! Kraft Heinz in Cedar Rapids is looking for candidates that want to make great soups! The primary role of a Planner at the Cedar Rapids Factory is to establish timely, effective work plans for the maintenance techs. The primary responsibilities are development of maintenance work plans and coordination/scheduling of work to be performed by in house mechanics. The Planner supports our safety programs in all work practices. This position will spend most of the time reviewing work plans and part availability will spend some time meeting with parts vendors. Responsibilities & Duties: Reviews all work requests to determine the level of job plan required, ensure duplicates are eliminated and completes work order closeout documentation. Reviews job plan scope with the maintenance manager, and engineering manager to evaluate the work plan of completion. Work closely with primary customers: Maintenance mechanics, Storeroom Solutions, maintenance manager and engineering manager. Ensure available labor hours are scheduled with PM`s and WO`s. Target fill rates may be established. Review required parts for all PM`s prior to due date and scheduling Verifies availability of parts and materials for each job ahead of time. Issues materials to work orders for Shutdowns. Issues materials for PM tasks: EXAMPLE air-pre filters and associated O-rings. Issues materials for routine maintenance tasks. Requisitions non-stock items on PN forms to maintenance manager for approval. Review closely the parts delivered daily to ensure they are the correct parts and proper quantities, Coordinate shipment of outgoing items such as repairs and returns through the purchasing group with management approval. Manages the work order backlog. Prepares a draft schedule weekly for the coming week based on work order priority, equipment availability, resource utilization, carry-over work to be continued, etc. Routes schedule for input/approval by the Maintenance Manager. Maintain plant and equipment records of maintenance activities, for QRMP and other regulatory requirements. Equipment Failure Descriptions for the CMMS Maintains controlled documents assigned to the Maintenance Department Publishes activity and performance reports as required by management. Reviews equipment failure data for recurrent failures and initiates Root Cause Failure Analysis actions. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: High school/ GED diploma required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two to three years’ experience of Industrial Maintenance experience in an environment is strongly preferred. Employees will follow all safety protocols and perform their job responsibilities in a safe manner. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Excellent organizational skills and the proven ability to follow through with all tasks without delay. Extensive knowledge of processing, packaging, equipment, along with facilities and grounds equipment. Post-secondary technical education preferred. Work experience will be considered. Experience and skills in: Project management, maintenance planning, problem solving, leadership, and mathematics. Computer skills must include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access, and Windows. As well as the ability to learn and utilize search tools such as but not limited to Storeroom Solutions inventory control system and SAP. Must demonstrate an adequate level of initiative, persistence, and professionalism to independently resolve complex issues when information or other resources are not easily obtainable. Must ensure that quality products are being produced. Must be able to communicate effectively. Responsible for following all Food Safety Policies and Safety Procedures. Basic knowledge of Hydraulic Systems, Pneumatic Systems, and Plumbing Systems. General PSM knowledge preferred. Knowledge of and experience with power and hand tools. Basic welding preferred. There is significant exposure to moving equipment, reasonable industrial noise, and changing floor surfaces. Work Schedule: 1st Shift Benefits & Compensation Overview: Medical. Dental. Vision.
