What You’ll Do:

• Develop, maintain, and utilize the shop maintenance learning and development plan using a web-based learning management system.
• Deliver formal technical training on various tractor and trailer topics, including soft skills.
• Identify shop training and developmental needs to provide opportunities for learning and growth.
• Manage Shop Trainers in the performance of their duties.
• Ensure that training is effective at all shop locations.
• Travel to multiple facilities or work sites requiring both single and multiple day stays (25-50% travel, length of visit to vary).
• Assist with the selection, training, direction, and support of shop training personnel in various locations.

Manage and occasionally conduct onboarding training of new hires including shop management, parts, and service personnel.

• Assists the Area Maintenance Managers for a group of maintenance facilities that are strategically aligned to ensure standardization/consistency in processes and procedures.
• Review and support processes, standard operating procedures, and programs including but not limited to shop processes, diagnostic computers, battery chargers and testers, and other equipment.
• Perform, analyze, and report data based on Learning and Development Plan requirements.

Develop and report on training Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

• Set up and lead in-person and Microsoft Teams meetings & webinars.

Perform other duties as assigned to support maintenance shop operations.

What We’re Looking For:

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as a minimum of two years of professional experience for each year of college requested.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience managing personnel in a maintenance shop environment.
• Minimum of 5 years hands-on Diesel Mechanic experience, to include advanced diagnostics.
• Microsoft Excel and Teams experience.
• Experience conducting formal classroom and hands-on training strongly preferred.
• Dry van trailer maintenance experience preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multiple shop locations preferred.
• Experience in Learning Management Systems (Cornerstone or equivalent) preferred.
• Experience in creating training content using PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline, or equivalent preferred.
• Intermediate level Microsoft Excel experience preferred (pivot tables).

Skills/Certifications

• Strong communication, organization, time management, and leadership skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both at the shop level and corporate level.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Maintenance Systems software.
• Extensive knowledge of shop operations and equipment.
• Ability to plan, set goals, and execute a schedule with minimal supervision.
• DOT Certified Brake Inspector required within 2 months after hire.
• DOT 609 certification required within 2 months after hire.
• DOT 608 certification preferred.
• ASE Master Medium/Heavy Duty Certified preferred. This will be required to be obtained within 2 years of being in the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $71,900.00 - $89,900.00 per year
