The primary purpose of the Electrician / Electrical Technician is to perform plant electrical troubleshooting, assist with PLC automation and controls, maintain safe work environment, calibrate instrumentation, VFD programming, and provide knowledge and direction for electrical maintenance department.

Job Functions:

  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections on all equipment being worked on
  • NFPA 70e PPE and appropriate testing equipment must be used if equipment troubleshooting requires it to be energized
  • Maintain LOTO and Try during all tasks
  • MSHA, US Silica, Millen Plant and all Task Training to be completed prior to the performance of your daily job responsibilities.
  • Keep all high traffic areas clean and clear of any trash, debris, tools, hoses, or other miscellaneous items (use proper cleaning procedures for oil and other lubricants leaks and spills)
  • Follow and maintain all applicable standards related to Environmental Compliance.
  • Perform PLC programming and maintain software/firmware updates
  • HMI development and monitoring
  • Control wiring
  • Relay/ladder logic
  • Troubleshooting using Allen Bradley PLC control systems
  • Conduit lay out
  • 3 Phase Power systems
  • AC and DC Speed Drives
  • Instrumentation Setups and Calibrations
  • Ability to evaluate and troubleshoot plant electrical maintenance issues and provide effective and cost sensitive recommendations.
  • Able to work with Preventative Maintenance programs
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Experience working with trades in a maintenance or repair environment
