POSITION OVERVIEW
This position is located within the Eastern District of Virginia Consolidated Information Technology Department which serves judges, judicial staff, and the staffs of the Clerk’s Office and the U.S. Probation Office. The Information Technology Technician I provides IT help desk support for end users along with technical support in installing and configuring hardware and software programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Respond to help desk calls and e-mails, log computer issues using service desk management application, and assist with routine issues; issues that are not quickly resolved are escalated to the next level;
• Provide information and assistance to users on office productivity and court applications such as word processing and data entry;
• Assist with creating user accounts and providing end user orientation training;
• Create and run reports. Install or assist in the installation of upgrades or new or revised off the shelf/desktop releases. Set up, configure, install, and document hardware and software;
• Provide support for mobile computing devices and remote access. Perform basic system support for telephone systems;
• Receive and maintain inventory of IT related assets according to internal control policies;
• Provide backup assistance to the Courtroom Technology Administrator and other IT staff;
• Participate in local or national conferences and similar gatherings to continue professional development; and
• Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $49,523.00 - $80,546.00 per year
