2025Capital Markets Summer InternLoan Capital Markets

What you’ll do

Our 10-week paid internship will provide you with the foundation to become a financial market specialist while working in a dynamic and supportive team environment. You will receive accelerated learning and skill development through a mix of on-the-job training, mentorship, a community of peers and advisors, and a pathway to our full-time Capital Markets Development Program upon graduation.

Loan Capital Markets Role:

U.S. Bank has helped clients raise capital efficiently and effectively with the support of Loan Capital Markets. Our team consists of over 50 professionals in various capacities including loan syndications, private placements, and secondary market loan trading ranging across various industries from technology to real estate, to food and agribusiness. Our program will help you develop a strong foundation in financial markets, take part in the process of helping clients execute complex transactions, and work in a dynamic team.

As a Loan Capital Markets Intern, you will:

  • Create transaction and pitchbook materials, including lender presentations, information memorandums, and comparable transaction analyses

  • Help conduct analysis of companies’ financial statements

  • Research and identify key terms and conditions of recent loan market transactions

  • Develop technical and business acumen through training, mentorship, and exposure to senior executives

  • Build a supportive community of peers through a variety of cohort strengthening activities such as social events, development workshops, and catered insight to support your transition from college to the workforce

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for intellectually curious and creative thinkers who can think on their feet and thoughtfully react to a changing market. 

Basic qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics, or a related field with a target graduation of December 2025/June 2026

  • Ability to start the internship program in June of 2025

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Demonstrates an interest in capital markets

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints

  • Self-motivated with a keen desire to learn and contribute within a dynamic team environment

  • Well-developed analytical skills

  • Intellectual curiosity

  • Attention to detail

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $31.25 - $41.68 - $45.85U.S. Bank accepts applications for this position on an ongoing basis.
