Data Scientist

U-Haul International, Inc is seeking a Data Scientist to:

• Compute seasonality adjustment, future expected growth, and rate limiting factors for various business metrics to support financial planning and profitability projections.
• Design and implement machine learning models appropriate for various business challenges, such as classification, regression, recommendation systems, NLP and more.
• Create and maintain automated ETL pipelines and Databases for operational data on SQL Server and Azure Databricks.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of complex data sets involving time series data, ecommerce data, competitor rate analysis and identifying trends, patterns, insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Communicate analysis findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely through visualizations, presentations, and reports.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation, leveraging technology and tools to streamline data collection and analysis workflows.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data integrity, data governance, and data security best practices are followed.
• Advanced web scrapping using Python, ETL processes and data modeling for scrapped competitor data.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in analytics to continuously enhance analytical capabilities within the organization.

The ideal candidate for this position will have their Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Statistics, Data Science or Mathematics or related field and 2 years’ experience in the following:

• ETL, preprocessing for structured and unstructured data;
• Building machine learning models for classification, regression, and NLP tasks;
• Data modelling, statistical and multivariate analysis;
• Python programming;
• R programming;
• Tableau and Power BI reporting;
• T-SQL, Postgres, Spark SQL;
• Enterprise Azure Databricks;
• Ecommerce and web data analytics;
• Google Analytics (Universal Analytics and Google Analytics 4);
• Google Search Console and Google Data Studio;
• Qualtrics Analytics;
• Glassbox Analytics;
• E-mail marketing tools: Braze, Dot-digital, Live-clicker; and
• Semrush and Conductor.
