Lab Manager, Tyler Texas. The Laboratory Manager provides leadership for planning, management, implementation, integration and coordination of the Laboratory Services in support of facility goals dedicated to excellence, effective leadership, and financial stability. Support the delivery of the high quality, cost effective patient care through activities based on facility strategic goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The individual in this position must be able to perform the following duties with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Responsible for the planning and coordination of Laboratory Department’s daily activities, the operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Participates on various committees and other task forces as may be established by management to plan, organize and drive the facility.
• Directs development of specific short and long-range programs and project plans to obtain the facility objectives.
• Oversees the prioritization of projects and directs resources to ensure the attainment of facility goals.
• Provides direction to assigned staff. Oversees or conducts training and new employee orientation. Manages workload and scheduling. Responds to grievances of patients.
• Ensures maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment. Oversees quality assurance procedures. Ensures adequate safety and compliance with standard operating procedures. Requests new equipment as needed and develops new laboratory procedures.
• Performs microbiological laboratory testing and interprets findings in assigned specialty areas.
• Responsible for ensuring the department meets and adheres to all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory agency requirements and for ensuring the department and facilities success in any regulatory survey.
• Measures and monitors key performance areas of laboratory. Recommends ways to promote continuous quality improvement, customer service, and employee satisfaction.
• Performs duties to ensure CLIA compliance.
• Conducts purchasing, budget tracking and inventory management for the laboratory.
• Assist the Practice Administrator with any assigned projects or duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

• Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science Degree
• ASCP-MT or AMT-MT (Medical Laboratory Scientist)

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: 3-5 years experience in field preferred 3-5 years management experience required
