Structures Division Manager - Northern California

Twining Inc. an innovative engineering, testing, and inspection Company with 100 years of history, is seeking a Structures Division Manager to support our northern California offices (Sacramento and Concord). Qualified candidates must have experience in material testing and inspection on vertical construction projects, history of increasing levels of responsibility, and a minimum of ten years' experience. This is a practice-builder-level position, and the successful candidate will be expected to develop and grow the structures division in our northern California offices.

Qualified candidates will perform the following duties:
A) Business Development Duties

Identify existing and upcoming vertical construction opportunities to bid.
Develop clients and associated revenue for the division.
Establish and cultivate relationships with CM firms, general contractors, and design firms to increase teaming opportunities and expand market share for the division.
Prepare proposals and independently win projects.
Assist in the marketing and acquisition of vertical construction projects for Twining.
Assist marketing in business development, including attending short-list interviews, reviewing and evaluating RFPs/RFQs to help develop proposals and statement of qualifications.

B) Management Duties

Oversee, manage and direct vertical construction projects with varying range of complexity.
Ensure that projects meet quality and financial performance expectations.
Assist in the recruitment of field inspectors.

Required competencies include:

Deep knowledge of different market sectors in construction.
Proven track record in business development and client management.
Ability to work closely with the marketing group to help acquire projects.
Experience with the required materials testing and inspection requirements for buildings constructed in California.
Experience with HCAI and DSA projects.
Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate clearly with co-workers, clients, and potential clients.
Ability to maintain company established chargeability goals.
A minimum of 10 years of increasing experience.
Demonstrated successful leadership of a team of field inspectors.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; and
Exhibits an advanced ability to analyze problems and develop alternative strategies to solve them.
