OB TITLE: Groundskeeper
DEPARTMENT: Grounds
REPORTS TO: Director of Grounds
HOURS: 7:30am - 3:30pm - Full time position
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for Twin Lakes Community campus grounds maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cuts lawns
- Trims and edges
- Uses blower to remove grass clippings and leaves
- Prunes shrubs and trees
- Removes damaged leaves, branches and twigs
- Sprays lawns, plants, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides using hand or automatic sprayer
- Waters lawns, shrubs, and flowers
- Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of campus irrigation system
- Maintains paths, sidewalks, or road surfaces
- Performs ground maintenance duties, using a tractor equipped with attachments, such as: lime and/or fertilizer spreaders, lawn roller and/or aerator
- Operates tractor or trucks equipped with snow removal equipment to keep roads cleared during inclement weather
- Shovels sidewalks during snow events
- Makes minor repair to mowers and other equipment
- Sharpens and cleans tools
- Maintains and paints various street and informational signs on campus
- Erects and places various Christmas decorations throughout the campus
- Helps with resident trash pick up as required
- Tracks annual equipment repair cost and schedules preventative maintenance
- May be required to perform other duties in keeping with the nature of this position which will not significantly alter the job requirements.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
- One or more years of experience in landscaping preferred.
