We are looking for an experienced, driven and passionate Human Resources Manager to join our team. The scope of the position is as follows:

The Human Resource manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function.

MANAGEMENT SCOPE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Annually reviews and makes recommendations to senior management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on labor staff matters.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.
  • Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all labor staff matters while maintaining senior management and other leaders apprised as required.
  • Communicates changes in the organization's labor staff policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed. Translates policies and procedures as required.
  • Reviews all benefit plans, rates and other changes with vendors and insurance broker. Maintains all benefit plans and ACA compliance for the Company.
  • Ensures that all employees have updated job descriptions and the descriptions are consistent at all locations.
  • Responsible for the administration of the 401k Retirement Program and works directly with external vendor on the Company’s 5500 401k Retirement Program annual audit.
  • Oversees the Company’s payroll processing through third parties and ensures compliance with all state and federal reporting requirements.
  • Works directly with unit managers to ensure time clock is capturing hours accurately and hours are being reported correctly as well as audit of weekly payrolls for all restaurant locations.
  • Assists senior management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the organization's compensation program. May also work in conjunction with external compensation analysts to review job market trends.
  • Monitors recruitment efforts to ensure positions are filled within the recruiting window of 30, 45 or 60 days.
  • Reviews and monitors retention analysis through exit interviews of labor staff.
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed, on labor staffing matters. Actively works with legal counsel on any and all legal complaints.
  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on labor staff matters. Counsels department managers on termination and other forms of disciplinary action matters.
  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.
  • Develops and maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization's labor staff information needs and requirements.
  • Leads staff of the Human Resources Department.
  • Participates on committees and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities and required.
  • Responsible for OSHA 300 Log for the Company as well as overseeing worker’s compensation claims. When required, assists hearings at the Department of Industrial Accidents.
  • Must adhere by all established policies and procedures including following all good manufacturing practices and Company Core Values.
  • Reviews all unemployment claims for accuracy

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in human resources or equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid ethical disposition and ability to form business relationships across the organization. Solid verbal and written communication skills and 5 to 7 years of relevant experience. Ability to use sound judgment by reviewing all facts and data available prior to formulating opinion or conclusion. Flexibility and ability to be at the facility when required during off hours. Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Power Point, Excel and Word a must. Must be detailed oriented, organized and ability to multi task. Promote positive environment and have solid interpersonal skills while adhering to Company established Core Values. Spanish language skills with cultural knowledge a must.

SAFETY PROCEDURES AND EQUIPMENT

If and when visiting all identified areas, personal protective equipment will be required. Personal protective equipment also includes; but not limited to, non-slip soled shoes.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a sedentary role; however, also includes walking throughout the facilities as required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
