Personal Care Assistant
Duties:
- Provide direct care and assistance to individuals in need of personal support
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper techniques and equipment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Help with meal planning, preparation, and feeding as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
Skills:
- Caregiving experience in a nursing home, assisted living, or similar setting
- Knowledge of first aid and basic medical procedures
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and strategies
- Ability to administer medications accurately and safely
- Understanding of resident rights and the importance of maintaining confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
