Tuolumne County is Hiring a Behavioral Health Program Supervisor I/II Near Sonora, CA

Behavioral Health is seeking a Children's Service Supervisor who possesses a strong background in administration of a systems of care and extensive experience working with child welfare, probation, and other resource service agencies dedicated to serving children. Preferred candidates will demonstrate a deep understanding of the complexities within these systems and have a proven track record of effectively collaborating with various agencies to ensure the holistic well-being of children and youth accessing the department care. Program Assignments are subject to change with prior timely notice.

DEFINITION

Under general direction, manages an assigned Behavioral Health program; coordinates program development, implementation and administration; supervises the work of assigned clinical staff; and performs related work as required.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives general direction from the Behavioral Health Clinical Manager. Exercises direct and general supervision of professional, technical, and administrative staff.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS

This is a supervisory classification functioning as a system of care program manager within the Department of Behavioral Health, with responsibility for a major Behavioral Health program area such as Children's Services, Adult Services or Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). Incumbents supervise and coordinate direct service delivery. This class is distinguished from the Behavioral Health Program Manager by the complexity of multiple programmatic and budgetary responsibilities of the latter. It is further distinguished from Behavioral Health Program Clinician class series by the clinical administrative supervisory and/or clinical coordination responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, counseling, psychiatric social work, nursing or a related behavioral science and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience as a clinician in a relevant behavioral health and/or alcohol/drug program and at least one (1) year of lead experience or three (3) years of experience equivalent to a Behavioral Health Clinician III with the County of Tuolumne.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License by time of appointment.

Possession of one of the following valid California licenses: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Registered Nurse or Clinical Psychologist, or any other license approved by the State of California.
