TulsaCares is Hiring a Director of Development Near Tulsa, OK

Job Description
The Director of Development is responsible for achieving fundraising objectives by planning, coordinating, and managing fundraising efforts and activities, including annual giving, grant proposals, capital campaigns, Tulsa Area United Way partner agency status, and Red Ribbon Gala.

Essential Functions:

  • In partnership with the CEO, the Director of Development will formalize development plans that meet the ongoing budgeting and operational needs of Tulsa CARES.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for the agency’s annual fundraising event, Red Ribbon Gala, and committee, which includes coordinating communications, running meetings, soliciting and managing sponsorships and donations, and assisting event planners with timeline execution and event logistics.
  • Proactively identify, apply for, and monitor grants and other requests for funding, including public, corporate, and private funds.
  • Actively maintain the organization’s donor database, Donor Perfect, including data maintenance, reports, and the timely creation of donor acknowledgments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with donors and key corporate and community leaders, including opportunities for stewardship and relationship growth.
  • Network with other development and community partners to source funding opportunities and professionally represent the agency in the community.
  • Supervise the Community Engagement and Marketing Coordinator who provides support to the leadership team and program staff in marketing programs and events, enhances the agency’s community footprint, and offers critical promotion and volunteer support relative to Red Ribbon.
  • Support the board of directors by preparing necessary reports and engaging in fundraising efforts.

Requirements:

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must have the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of internal management and staff as well as outside vendors, board of directors and members of the community.
