SUMMARYAs a member of the School Counseling staff, the Counseling Intern collaborates with an assigned school counselor to implement the TUSD School Counseling Program.

This position is funded through the ESSER Grant. The position will end when grant funding expires. Grant is expected to last for three years.  
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degreeArizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance CardCurrently enrolled in a Master’s Degree program that, when completed, meets the requirements for Arizona Department of Education Certification as a school guidance counselor.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:Experience with diverse student populations Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with parents, students, teachers, and staff ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIREProof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.Must hold a current Driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance coverage greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.

• This position is a TEMPORARY position and will end in May 2022.
• Will complete School Guidance Counselor Master’s Degree program in May 2022, or earlier.
• At the time of graduation, Interns will be eligible to apply for Full Counselor Positions.

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
