Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District is Hiring a Group Exercise Instructor Near Beaverton, OR

Group Fitness Instructors
THPRD Fitness is currently seeking experienced and qualified Group Fitness Instructors to join our team. As a Group Fitness Instructor, your primary responsibility will be to plan, instruct, and lead various group fitness classes that are in line with your certifications and areas of expertise. If you are passionate about fitness and have the necessary qualifications, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity!
Group fitness classes can take place either indoors or outdoors, at our top-notch recreation centers or one of the many beautiful parks in our area. Our sessions and classes are open to the community at large, and we welcome patrons of all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and interests. As a result, we are seeking team members who have the ability to support the individual needs of patrons while also managing group dynamics effectively. Trainers and instructors must be capable of demonstrating safe exercise techniques.

 Instructors keep our patrons safe:
  • Physically – by gauging and adjusting programming to meet each patron’s ability and skill level 
  • Mentally – by encouraging and building a positive community with our patrons
Hours: Staff are typically scheduled 2 to 29 hours per week; between 7:30 AM - 7:00 PM throughout the week, along with opportunities to work on Saturdays and Sundays. Part-time employees work variable hours and may work less than 1,560 hours per year.
 
 Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current certification required (AFAA, ACSM, ACE, NASM, ISSA, Barre®, Zumba®, etc.)
  • Current CPR, First Aid, AED certification, or willing to obtain/renew upon hire
  • 2 years' experience teaching 
  • Experience working with a diverse population
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual: ASL, Spanish (pay incentive)
