Job Description Job Title: Aquatics Group FitnessInstructor Pay Transparency: $30-$40/hour (DOE) Role and Responsibilities The Aquatics Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for providing cutting-edge aquatics fitness instruction through a variety of entertaining and educational methods to promote fitness and positive self- esteem in a safe environment. They will act as a fitness resource for class participants and maintain positive relationships with members to encourage continued class attendance. Specific Responsibilities Essential Functions
Provide cutting-edge aquatic group fitness instruction that appeals to members of all ages and activity levels.
Achieve daily class attendance goals by developing strong relationships with current class participants and striving to attract new participants.
Offer challenging and educational aquatic routines to help members reach their health and fitness goals.
Administer emergency care to members and guests in need of assistance
Work as a TEAM with all other departments
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Other Functions
Be knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered throughout the center
Promote club services and activities
Perform routine maintenance of Aquatics equipment
Assist with keeping the club well stocked and clean
Attend Active Wellness site meetings and trainings
Handle injury and illness and security incident reporting
Requirements Qualifications and Education Requirements
Previous health club personal training experience is a plus.
High school diploma or GED
Preferred one-year experience as a fitness instructor
Physically fit to lead class at the appropriate level.
Develop routines with appropriate music and choreography.
Complete continuing education requirement of 10 hrs./year.
Minimum of one nationally recognized Group Exercise Certification
AEA or similar Aqua Aerobics Certification is required
Must be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer service
Strong verbal communication skills
Basic computer skills, customer service skills, results oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industry
AED/CPR/First Aid Certified
Proof of citizenship or legal status
Physical and Working Conditions
Ability to take the responsibility for the health and safety of others
Ability to stand for several hours in a same shift; ability to lift 25 lbs
Fitness club environment
Must follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standards
