Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Environmental, Health, and Safety Science related field.
Solid knowledge of EHS and Facility Maintenance functions
Minimum 2 years experience in the EHS related assignment.
Instructing Skills to Provide clear guidance and teaching others effectively.
Learning Strategies for adapting instructional methods to facilitate learning.
Coordination - Aligning actions with others.
Active Listening.
Attention to detail.
Communication.
Functions:
Provide new-employee health and safety orientations and develop materials for these presentations.
Hazardous Identification/Mitigation. Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as the use of safety equipment, hazardous condition monitoring, and safety laws and regulations.
Select and train EHS Committee volunteers and lead EHS Committee activities.
Plan and conduct emergency response drills.
Coordinate "right-to-know" programs regarding hazardous chemicals or other substances.
Incident Management.
Inspect specified areas to ensure the presence of fire prevention equipment, safety equipment, or first-aid supplies.
Interview employees to obtain information about work environments and workplace incidents.
Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.
Investigate accidents to identify causes or to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
Analyze incident data to identify trends in injuries, illnesses, accidents, or other hazards.
Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
Maintain inventories of hazardous materials or hazardous wastes, using waste tracking systems to ensure that materials are handled properly.
Investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
Prepare or review specifications or orders for the purchase of safety equipment, ensuring that proper features are present and that items conform to health and safety standards.
