Job Title: Quality Engineer Specialist

Department: Quality

Summary: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of quality technical information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop and maintain PPAP submission, Control Plan / PQCT and PFMEA

Assist with the development and planning of new projects through APQP

Review and provide periodic updates on projects through completion

Prepare and update customer new model schedules and quality documents

Review and approve new model packaging for quality prior to shipment

Develop and implement inspection standards

Capability Analysis for mass production which includes, check reductions, determining specification changes and targets, and other improvements

Work with QC Lab to ensure the quality of prototype parts prior to shipment

Responsible for new gauge management to include procurement, repeatability and reproducibility and calibration

Responsible for drawing management

Work with production to identify problem/broken gauges, decide repairs needed, schedule repairs, and work with production to re-implement repaired gauges 

Support for new model readiness meetings, executive committee meeting presentations, budget preparation and QC lab technicians as needed

Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards

Control plan, Corrective action, PFMEA, Process flow. ASQ Certification a plus.

Education and/or Experience 

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university in Quality, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
