- You have an intervention specialist license from the Ohio Department of Education – or will be eligible for one by the start of the 24-25 school year.
- You have had some experience working with students with emotional disabilities.
- You’ve observed classrooms with behavior systems for students.
- Your friends comment on your extraordinary flexibility and patience.
- Student behaviors don’t frighten you.
- You are not willing to dive in and learn.
- Disruptions drive you crazy.
- You are looking for a job where every day will be easy and predictable.
- The salary schedule begins at $38,076 for a teacher with a bachelor’s degree and no experience.
- TCESC teachers work a 184- day contract.
- TCESC pays 90 percent of a teacher’s healthcare premium each month.
- You accrue paid sick leave with also having three personal days per year.
- TCESC pays for a $50,000 life insurance policy.
- Funds are available for partial tuition reimbursement.
- TCESC provides a mentor and a structured program for resident educators.
- Each classroom has at least one classroom assistant. There are counselors also working in many of our ED classrooms.
