Position Overview
Manages all facets of assigned procurement category to meet the sourcing and category management needs and requirements of the company. Manages all program-related needs, issues, and initiatives for the category.
Responsibilities
Develops and executes short and long-term category management strategies based on business needs and market intelligence
Coordinates and negotiates Procurement of critical direct and/or indirect materials and services
Supports and executes Master Supply Agreement/Scope of Work, ensuring competitive price, quality, delivery, market place analysis, market place innovation, and ensure surety of supply and services
Performs data analysis to understand historical and projected spend
Participate and execute negotiations utilizing a structured approach, approved terms and conditions
Owns supplier relationships based on assigned categories and monitors adoption of strategies and suppliers, to include the identification and tracking of service level agreements and performance indicators
Provides leadership and guidance on supplier agreement extensions or negotiations for a given category
Establishes and maintains collaborative, long-term relationships with strategic suppliers aiming at continuous value creation
Accurately forecasts total cost-benefit opportunities; develop economic projections on key goods and services affecting the business
Interfaces with stakeholders to ensure strategies are adapted to support the company’s needs and objectives
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required and 3 years of experience in category management/strategic sourcing and pricing, contract T&Cs negotiations required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years of supplier relationship development and Industry experience preferred
Professional qualification/certification from related professional body, (ISM – CPM / CPSM, APICS) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of sourcing and category management concepts, principles, practices, and strategies
Knowledge of contractual terms and conditions (e.g., indemnification, intellectual property, force majeure, amendments/exhibits, statements of work)
Negotiation and influencing skills
Business and financial acumen
Organizational, project and process management and leadership skills
Written and verbal communication skills, including delivering presentations
Business process analysis skills
Attention to detail and quantitative analytical skills
Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within a team
Negotiation aptitude
