TrueNet Communications is Hiring a Safety Specialist II Near Phoenix, AZ

Remote work is available for this position.  The Safety Specialist II provides in-depth technical health and safety support to field employees within all divisions. This role provides safety compliance expertise to all TrueNet regions, ensuring company policies and procedures are followed and sustained. (This is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon management.) Essential Position Functions: Work with TrueNet Safety Specialists and the Environmental Health and Safety Manager to review and update company health and safety programs and objectives as applicable. Ensures proper working at height safety tower climbing, correct fall protection used, RF safety training, ladder safety, and safe driving techniques used within division that require work at height. Has a working knowledge of NFPA 70e including the electrical hazards and safety controls required while working with, or in close proximity to circuits over 50 volts along with employee electrical safety awareness. Identify company working at height safety training needs; develop, coordinate, and preform safety training programs and assist Safety Specialists in their fall protection programs. Provide guidance to TrueNet management teams in the implementation of safety controls to minimize risk. Monitor all health and safety regulations and provide technical support to field employees and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and other health and safety regulations. Participate in and provide feedback during the implementation/selection of new processes/products from a health and safety analysis standpoint. Review injury/illness and non-injury incident investigation reports. Provide follow-up as necessary. Provide technical and health and safety support/information to all TrueNet employees. Provide guidance to employees in the selection and proper use of personal protective equipment. Assist in developing annual company health and safety goals. Promote health and safety awareness through internal communication and specific training programs. Audit and review department practices and records to ensure compliance with company programs and federal/state occupational health and safety regulations. Provide guidance for best practices and compliance. Coordinate safety material with other TrueNet Safety Specialists and the EHS Manager (videos, reference manuals, etc.). Stay abreast of Federal and State OSHA regulations. Partner with leadership to ensure TrueNet is compliant. Review and assess subcontractor's safety performance on job sites and provide recommendations to TrueNet management as needed. When directed by EHS Manager, work with the Fleet Specialist to assist with those needs within TrueNet. Able to effectively interact with TrueNet Wireless customers and Tower owners to ensure TrueNet meets their health and safety requirements and effectively communicates our compliance to them through verbal and online applications. Other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience: Highschool Diploma or GED. Construction Health and Safe Technician (CHST) certification, Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certification, or equivalent safety degree preferred. 5 years’ experience in construction safety may be substituted in lieu of certification or degree. 3-5 years in the Cell Tower Industry with a wireless construction background preferred. Working knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, and workers compensation regulations. Demonstrated experience providing safety training and implementing safety initiatives. Working knowledge of Federal, State, and other safety protocols and procedures. Ability to physically perform any required safety training such as Ladder Safety, Working at Height, or Vehicle Safety, with or without accommodation. Experience with horizontal directional drilling preferred. Experience working at height (Wireless towers). Forklift trainer certification, First Aid/CPR trainer preferred. Demonstrate experience presenting training material and leading project groups to TrueNet. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Ability to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work self-directed with a sense of urgency. Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communications skills. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, DOT medical certification, and sustain a satisfactory MVR. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those of a standard office environment.
