About the role

We are looking for a full-time Transmission/Distribution Construction Manager in various locations based in OH, MI, and IN. This position is responsible for leading, monitoring and administration of construction work on distribution line projects to ensure the final product for Capital division is completed safely, on schedule, on budget and meets all design, operational and safety criteria. This position supports TruEdge Solutions through the planning and delivery of the execution phase of new capital projects and responsible for the effective planning, and execution of capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the project team by attending meetings and working collaboratively on construction planning and coordination.
• Ensure safe work practices, quality assurance, and quality control of contractors work in accordance with contract specification and OH, MI, and IN Safety & Environmental codes.
• Monitor the construction of all projects for scope changes and report daily on changes that can impact the project cost or schedule, issue change orders within level of authority or escalate to quickly address.
• Monitor the construction of all projects for schedule changes and track progress on a daily basis identifying any issues that could delay the schedule, provide advice on course of action to maintain the schedule within authority levels or escalate to quickly address.
• Monitor and audit construction and materials management documentation to ensure that the facilities are being constructed to meet the quality specifications in the contract.
• Review and approve Contractor procedures for adherence to our client’s established safe practices.
• Provide daily direction to Construction resources to ensure that our client’s procedures, Quality Assurance, and inspection programs are being adhered to.
• Act as a liaison with the construction management team, various work groups, and communicate with other department groups regarding project scope, scheduling, and other project related information.
• Establish good working relationships with multi-discipline project team members, contractors, and any others that influence the quality, schedule, and cost of projects.
• This position will also manage interface with Contractors during construction including supervision and ensure that all Construction deliverables including construction is completed in accordance with Design and Contract packages.

Candidate Requirements

• Graduate from a recognized Electrical Engineering Technology Program or trade designation as a Power System Electrician or Lineman.
• Minimum 3 years related work experience in construction of electrical distribution lines.
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Team player with ability to prioritize assignments to meet customer needs.
• Knowledgeable about OSHA Safety Regulations, Environmental, and all applicable OH, MI, and IN electrical and building codes.
• Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Must be able to understand & interpret engineering, architectural and construction drawings.
• Must be able to understand contract terms and conditions and the ability to manage the terms and conditions of the contract.
• Experience working with MS Office products such as Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Supervisory skills relating to site management of multiple work groups and contractors.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Project management training and experience would be considered an asset
• Construction experience in structural assembly and line work would be an asset.
• Familiarity with Scheduling Software such as MS Project and Primavera P6.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification
