GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Senior Pre-Sales Engineer is a critical part of the sales pursuit team and works to create and plan the delivery of innovative value propositions to executive audiences by matching technical requirements/capabilities to business outcomes. This seasoned professional must combine excellent sales support, and consultative skills with an expert understanding of advanced and emerging technologies with an emphasis on networks, cloud and hosted desktops. The Senior Pre-Sales Engineer will consult with Sales to provide a comprehensive pitch to prospective clients.

This position requires the ability to collaborate on the development of innovative, tailored solutions for both clients and prospects. The successful candidate must know how to gather the client data required to effectively tailor a solution. By combining technical expertise with business acumen this role provides vital, detailed information about how True North’s solutions deliver business value to our clients.

The Senior Pre-Sales Engineer will work collaboratively with the Sales, Customer Experience and Service Delivery teams to understand business priorities to align activity with the needs of the customer and ensure onboarding and implementation processes are seamless.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the technical uniqueness of the value proposition
  • Present technical and business aspects of proposed solutions to a C-level audience
  • Move the sales process forward by providing technical support and guidance
  • Learn and maintain extensive knowledge of True North’s products, functions, and processes
  • Articulate technology and product knowledge to clients
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend proof of concept opportunities
  • Conduct proof of value projects from start to finish proving how our solutions will solve the customers’ problems
  • Provide the optimum combination of hardware, software, and services to meet complex customer needs
  • Play a role in the development of the bid, proposal, and presentation of the solution to the prospect
  • Develop career level technical presentations for customers, partners, and potential prospects
  • Manage vendor partners to help drive business and deliver demand-generation events
  • Use in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs
  • May prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or 5 years of applicable work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of infrastructure engineering and some experience with successful pre-sales support
  • Strong background in networking
  • Cloud, Win10 and 11, O365 and other migration-related projects
  • Knowledge of Service Lifecycle and other quality of service related disciplines
  • Extensive knowledge of the Managed Service market and the competitive landscape and sales process
  • Must be customer-focused and have the ability to design and manage solutions to complex technical issues
  • Ability to interface with senior levels of internal / external organizations is required
  • Demonstrated skills in complex solutions environments
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills
  • Technologically savvy and able to learn True North’s products and services, technologies, and business whilst understanding how this applies to MSP business models
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; capable of gaining the respect of and interacting comfortably with senior leaders and executives
  • Ability to adapt to changes quickly
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
  • Self‐motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
  • The willingness to generate and maintain clear technical documentation and records
  • The capacity to learn existing and emerging technologies
  • The ability to provide technical support and problem resolution for unfamiliar software and hardware
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems or professional service automation tools
  • The ability to lift 50 pound

Preferred experience

  • Experience working in the Healthcare industry
  • Experience working at an MSP
  • CCNA - networking level
  • Citrix
  • Professional IT Certifications, such as MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or VMware VCP
