Job Description:

The Manager in Training (MIT) is responsible for leading a team of Retail Associates in the successful staging, strategy, and pricing of estate sale retail events. The MIT is the driver of exceptional customer service and knows how to maximize retail event sales while maintaining exceptional estate sale store appearance and customer service. The MIT is an enthusiastic and confident leader who values team development and embraces challenges with optimism. Salary: $20.30 - $21.70 per hour

Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Orange County, CA

Shift: Day

Weekly day range:

• Rotating weekdays. **MUST HAVE WEEKEND AVAILABILITY**

Experience:

• Customer service: 2 years (Required)

Responsibilities:

• Directs a team of Retail Associates in the staging, strategy and pricing of estate sale retail events. 
• Responsible for all major shopper negotiations. 
• Responsible for the accurate revenue accounting, including cash counting and deposits. 
• Coordinates and works with the Assistant Operations Manager, and Operations Manager, to assure estate sale retail events are successful. 
• Contributes ideas and suggestions and participates in continuous improvement efforts.
• Coordinates equipment exchange & delivery, as well as the equipment supplies for estate sale team. 
• Provides coaching and feedback to Retail Associates and Lead Retail Associates. 
• Responsible in guiding Retail Associates and Lead Retail Associates in the completion of their Estate Sales training courses.
• Assures that Retail Associates are following best practices, principles and policies as set forth in the Estate Sales training courses. 
• Other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• Must be available to work weekends. 
• Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable retail experience required. 
• Minimum of one (1) year of supervision/management experience in a retail environment.
• Must be able to lead a team of 3 to 4 retail associates. 
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be able to communicate in English clearly and effectively.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check. 

Physical Requirements: 

• The nature of the position requires long periods of standing. 
• The nature of the position requires frequent travel to and from various locations within the County. Occasionally, travel may be required to neighboring counties. 
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 pounds. 
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
