The Event Manager position in the Trojan Center is responsible for serving as a primary contact for events and conferences for University and non-University clients; coordinating, arranging and supporting at all stages of event planning and execution; scheduling facilities and services for events as needed including venue reservations, audio- visual needs, tents, table/chairs, staging, staffing, etc.; maintaining calendars and communication to ensure all aspects of events are scheduled sufficiently in advance and all participants are aware of tasks and timelines; maintaining contact with personnel from the various outside organizations and university departments associated with scheduled events; displaying initiative and creative problem-solving to ensure events are handled professionally and efficiently; attending events to facilitate operations and respond to emergencies or problems if necessary; updating website with event information; advising clients on event set-ups, budget, timelines and other logistics; serving as a liaison between customers and Sodexo Dining Services to coordinate food service needs; establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with University and non-University vendors while making negotiations and arrangements both in planning and as an onsite liaison during events; compiling data to provide insight on purchasing new innovative equipment, and facility upgrades; supervising and managing all part-time and student employees in the area of Event Management to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the department; providing exceptional customer service as a resource and guide for new and returning clients to ensure the overall success of each program; and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean and/or Dean for Student Services.

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Minimum of two years of related work experience in facility and/or event management
3. Knowledge of reservation procedures and building operations
4. Ability to collaborate with other departments
