Troy University is Hiring a Program Advisor - Career Services Near Troy, AL
The Program Advisor position for Career Services is responsible for providing support to the Pathfinder Program for undeclared students by providing major and career guidance, including career assessments, career coaching and job search techniques. The Career Services Program Advisor also serves all students in all majors in a career coaching capacity, especially assisting students who are considering changing their major.
Responsibilities include:
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and coordinate Troy Campus’s Major Exploration Fair in the Spring and alumni or other Pathfinder-related events in the Fall.
- Coordinate Major and Career Exploration class sections, curriculum, and teach.
- Assist with IMPACT (Troy’s New Student Orientation) in the summers by speaking to potential students and parents regarding majors offered at TROY, career fields those majors relate to, and other outreach efforts to ensure retention and enrollment of potential students.
- Conduct career-related workshops in classrooms, for student groups, and various other organizations.
- Track Pathfinder and career exploration data for reporting
- Assist senior leadership of the Office of Career Services in the ongoing management, coordination, and communication of various events, teams, committees, and workgroups.
- Oversee maintenance and ongoing development of the Career Services website, social media, and job posting board (Handshake).
- Assist in coordination of the Office of Career Services, including employer outreach and engagement, project management, and event logistics
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field
2. Skill in preparation of public speaking, written reports, and website and print material development
3. Skill with budget support
