Job Summary
The Warehouse Manager leads the warehouse operations team ensuring safe, GMP/GDP compliant execution and management of operations to support GMP manufacturing and distribution, including but not limited to; inventory control, warehouse space allocation, material handling, receiving, stocking, picking, issuing and product shipping. Scope also includes developing strategies for risk remediation and mitigation, warehouse manager ensures strategic goals, policies and procedures of the organization are understood & followed when carrying out functions. Recruits, coaches, trains, and motivates team members to successfully perform their job and promotes individual development through mentoring for personal and team growth.
Scope of Authority
- Reviews work processes, recommends measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes in working methods to increase efficiency through lean methodology.
- Acts as subject matter expert on all warehouse processes and procedures.
- Utilizes Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to monitor warehouse processes and provides input for continuous improvement activities.
- Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment, prepares work order for repairs, and requisitions for replacement of equipment. Operates forklift and other lifting equipment.
- Reviews receipts and requests for movement of materials, prepares work schedules across shifts, and gives work assignments to subordinates.
- Demonstrates leadership and people management skills including ability to effectively select, train, coach, and mentor direct reports within the warehouse.
- Evaluates & documents job performance of direct reports; conducts all warehouse personnel performance appraisals.
- Manages and acts as subject matter expert for all warehouse processes including, but not limited to, receipt, inspection, stocking, picking, issuing, packing, transporting, and shipping materials, maintaining records of inventory, KANBAN management, and submitting requisitions for replacement stock.
- Ensures accurate data within all Inventory Management systems.
- Facilitates information flow for material availability to support production operations and customer service.
- Ensures the loading/unloading of trucks in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field, required.
- MBA or Master’s in Supply Chain, preferred.
- Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM; APICS), strongly preferred.
- Lean or Six Sigma Certification, Green Belt or higher strongly preferred.
- 10 years of experience in Warehousing, Distribution, Logistics, or other comparable functions, required.
Knowledge
- Management experience in a GMP/GDP setting, strongly preferred.
- Use of Supply Chain technology (e.g. barcode scanners, RFID, and other wireless devices), required.
- Knowledge of discrete batch manufacturing in pharmaceutical or related field, preferred.

- SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience highly desired.

- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Walk across plant/warehouse.
